Born in Rome, Italy in 1969, Massimo Mercurio moved to Asia at the age of 24 experiencing life in Bangkok and Singapore where he eventually settled down. The Italian designer is an extremely versatile personality whose interests and experiences span from Theoretical Physics to Architecture, from Philosophy to Project Management.

He attended the school of Classical Studies, Art, Philosophy and Literature, in college. He then furthered his studies in Design at the University of Rome. He speaks a few languages at various levels, among which are Mandarin and Thai.

During the fifteen years in Asia he gathered experiences in design, construction and project management. His principal activity is dedicating his time to AMA Group - a well-known Italian Architectural, Design and Project Management firm - of which he manages its businesses in Asia.

His interest in Art focuses both on the theoretical and practical front. The former sees his works centric on establishing a philosophical framework aimed at supporting the inception of an original style emerging out of the new creative fringes of the East. The latter is concerned with the conceptualization and execution of dedicated projects designed to spread and represent the manifestation of his theories.

It is because of these interests and the potential of their practical aspects that the idea of Metakaos was conceived. His ˇ°Metakaosˇ± ranges from design to more philosophical efforts, with the intention of creating an Art movement that eventually could forge the driving ideology of the new aesthetic values and trends of the century.
