Born in 1963, Ling Yang Chang was educated in Singapore and Australia, having obtained his degrees in Chinese Studies, Economics and Education. Versatile in both traditional and contemporary Chinese art - such as brush painting, seal prints, modern and abstract art - he started his art career in traditional Chinese painting before venturing into Western art.
He has participated in many group exhibitions in Singapore, Bali and Korea; and is actively engaged in the art societies in Singapore as a member of the Singapore Art Society, the Modern Art Society of Singapore and the Siow-Tao Chinese Seal-Carving Calligraphy & Painting Society (Singapore).
He is a recipient of several awards including the Certificate of Commendation in Chinese Ink Painting for the Dr. Tan Tsze Chor Award in 2001 and 2005, the Certificate of Commendation for the 15th Painting of the Year Exhibition in 1996 organized by the United Overseas Bank Group, and the Certificate of Distinction for the Contemporary Art Competition organized by the Philippe Charriol Foundation in 1995 and 1996.
Today, he is an art educator who teaches art in both Eastern and Western mediums, and his works are held in private and public collections.
